SIP I is usually taken in your Y2 summer break, based on the MC requirements set by SoC. It's a 12-week internship, and you have to work full-time. Besides the internship workload, however, there isn't that much that you need to do.

Firstly, if the internship was not found using NUS TalentConnect, you have to instruct the company to post a listing on the platform. After a few email exchanges back and forth, you should be able to apply for that role under SIP I. If not, then please inform the necessary people that you are unable to do it. Don't leave it to the last minute.

But it's pretty much straightforward from there. At the start, you write down your initial objectives, which basically states what you plan to learn and accomplish during your internship. Afterwards, you have to submit monthly reports to monitor your progress through the internship. The big thing you have to worry about comes at the end, where you have to submit a Final Report, which is about 2000 words long. If you've been doing your internship properly, then this report shouldn't take too long to write. There is also an internship presentation with your SIP TA. Nearing the end of your internship, just book a 15-minute slot with your TA in the evening and just present. Don't be stressed about this, as it's quite an easy presentation if you've actually been doing work in your internship.
