Review

This course is all about linear spaces, focussing on the more computational aspects of it. How to define a linear space, how to find eigenvectors, how to find the basis vectors etc. The concepts accumulate gradually over the course of the semester, so maintaining a steady pace is quite important here. You can't easily skip lectures and expect to be on track all of the time. You will be exposed to a lot of different matrices and related concepts, so I think creating a sort-of mindmap will work better here as compared to other courses.

Not sure how it is these days, but in my sem, we had to work with MATLAB for our computational tasks. With unconventional syntax and poor debugging, it was torture.

Workload is pretty low, as is most math courses. You have tutorial attendance, a few assignments, and exams. But if you're a CS student, you might have a little trouble dealing with the bell curve, as you'll be competing against the Math majors. Call it copium, but I think the reason I didn't get my A- was because of the bell curve. That, and the fact that there was lots of construction going on outside my window, so I couldn't concentrate on my exams. Pick an excuse haha.

Overall, I think the inclusion of this course is quite significant, as it gives a good foundation for learning ML and AI. That's probably what MA1522 is for, but I'm not sure what that course fully is haha.
