I think this is a pretty good refresher course for math. The course covers quite a lot of fundamental concepts in calculus, including limits, functions, sequences, series, and differentiation.
Limits talks about the behaviour of a function as it approaches a certain point. We do mainly two things here. Prove whether a limit exists, and compute the value of the limit. The questions based around the former tend to be a little more tricky, as the types of functions they use are much more complex. On the other hand, for computing the value of the limit, the questions are pretty much standard, so you don't need to worry about it much.
Sequences and series talks about whether a pattern of numbers converges or diverges. There are like 8 convergence tests that you need to learn and practice. You need to know when to use each one, and how to apply them properly. I'd say this is the most challenging part of the course, as the questions can be quite tricky as well.
Lastly, we have functions. Sounds simple at first glance, but can get quite complicated. It mainly deals with whether functions are continuous or differentiable. It also brings us into the world of multivariate calculus, as we learn how to expand these theorems to the xy plane. Quite fun actually.
As for the workload, there was no compulsory attendance, but with 2x2h lectures and 1x1h tutorials every week. The only thing is that there are three in-lecture tests, which were not well-monitored at all. I think this module was a little poorly executed, because of the lack of anti-cheat measures. But it really feels like the professor cares about his students, so he really did try his best.
That's it for the exams, as there is no finals. Quite a low-effort course, especially compared to CS1101S.
