Review

CFG3001 is a 2MC course which can be completed in a week. This is a good source of feedback points if you need them for CourseReg. It is pretty similar to CFG1002, but it focusses on different things. In particular, it emphasises the need for a personal brand, and discusses more advanced tips on how to network properly. Concepts like VIPS will be thrown around often, as a sort of framework for self-analysis. That said, the workload may be a little higher than CFG2001:

1. Canvas Quizzes.

2. conNectUS Profile setup, and you have to do a forum response.

3. Set up an informational interview with someone in the industry (you need to show proof that you did it).

4. Jot down what you learnt from the informational interview in a reflection journal.

5. Use the VIPS framework to analyse your own skills.

6. VMock interview practice.

Most of them were fine, but the one that sizzles my spring onions is the VMock interview. It requires you to turn on your camera, then VMock will analyse your facial features (whether you're smiling, looking away, body language etc). But the thing is, my face is dark, so VMock was having a very hard time detecting my face. It took me a few tries to even get it to start the interview. Turning up the light, moving closer, changing angles, until I got the right combination of all. Goes to show how biased the facial recognition is. But I digress. Overall, I think it's a good course to take, especially if you're planning to go for internships or jobs soon. It's a good way to get your feet wet in the industry.
